I haven’t shared much of my home with you yet, although you have seen bits and pieces and things I’ve bought and made, you haven’t seen much of the house. As I’ve mentioned before, we just moved into our home in November, so it is a work in progress. The reason you haven’t seen much is because we have a bunch of half-decorated rooms, but I do plan on showing you more as we go along. I wanted to share a small part of our family room with you today. I was playing around with different arrangements for our built-in bookcases surrounding the fireplace, and thought I would just snap a few shots. In case you can’t tell by the photos, I have a serious love for the colors turquoise/robin’s egg blue/blue-green, etc.
This arrangement may have already changed by the time you read this, as I am always moving and rearranging things here and there, but here it is currently. I’m also throwing in a shot of our little end table that holds my thrift store lamp, thrift store candy dish and a wedding photo, for now.

There are several pieces in this photo that are special to me: My journals that I keep for each of my children (on the bookshelves); a couple of small vases I’ve picked up on anniversary trips to Asheville, NC, with the hubs; a framed photo that we bought from a local photographer while on our honeymoon in Charleston, SC; and of course lots of family photos and pictures of my sweet boys.
Some of the items pictured are thrift store transformations (lamp, candy dish, footed bowl, candle holder), and a few were bargain purchases from the Michael’s clearance aisle, Target and Hobby Lobby. (A few of my faves.)
Hopefully I will be able to show you more soon as I get down to business and get more work done to the house. I always enjoy seeing photos of other bloggers’ homes, so hopefully you will enjoy mine too. Although I am a major amateur and decorating is just a fun hobby for me. I enjoy it, especially now that I’ve joined the “DIY” movement. It’s so much fun to create and transform things for your home.
I’d love to hear from you! Feel free to leave a comment.
