Ok, I told you I went “Krylon Crazy” recently. I wasn’t joking! I have been spray painting everything in sight and I can’t stop. It’s amazing how something as simple as a coat of spray paint can totally transform something. Here are a couple little mini-projects I worked on over the weekend:
Shot Glass Bud Vase
I received a set of shot glasses in a Christmas “White Elephant” gift exchange a few years ago, and they’ve been sitting on a shelf ever since. My college days are over, and I’m afraid if I attempted to take a shot of any kind of liquor now, I’d be paying for it for days. Since I have several of them, I decided to make one of them into a cute little bud vase. I busted out the Krylon Looking Glass spray paint for one more attempt at giving something a “mirrored” look. Once again, I ended up having to spray the inside and outside of the glass because I just couldn’t get a uniform look, and it looked uneven and messy. I think the final result is pretty cute though. At least I’ll get a little more use out of the glass now. The unpainted version actually makes a cute little vase too. I really like the shape of these little guys.
Pillar Candle Holder
This candle holder has been floating around the house for years. Actually, I think it belonged to my husband before we were ever married. It was a bronze/brown metal, which was fine, but there were a few chips on it here and there. A coat of Chrome spray paint really helped it blend in with our family room decor.

And here it is on one of our built-in shelves in the family room:
I hope I get over this Krylon addiction soon. I need to move on to bigger and better things. I have made progress on the dresser I showed you last week. I’m hoping to have it done by this weekend. I’d like to do something about the built-in shelves pictured above (fabric backing? patterned paper?). I have several other projects up my sleeve too. Since we recently moved into our house, it seems like there are endless possibilities for decorating, transforming, improving, etc. On the cheap, of course! There may be endless possibilities, but we don’t have an endless budget. Luckily you will get to come along for the ride and hear about my progress every step of the way as I make our house a “home.” This blog is great motivation for me to actually get things done that I’ve planned on doing for quite some time. Thank you to everyone who has been reading, and to those of you who have joined the site and keep up with me on Facebook and Twitter. I really appreciate it!
