As I’ve mentioned before, I have a love for Ball Jars. I’ve been wanting to include them in more projects, and I’ve also wanted to experiment with Krylon Looking Glass spray paint. I decided to kill two birds with one stone with this vase project.
I decided to turn a plain Ball jar into a cute mirrored vase.

Krylon Looking Glass spray paint gives glass a mirrored appearance. I just added a little twine for an accent, picked some flowers out of my yard, and had an instant decorative vase.

The Looking Glass spray paint was a bit interesting to work with. You are supposed to spray the inside of the glass, and the reverse side ends up with the mirror-effect. It takes about 5 coats or so, and dries quickly. You just spray the inside, move it around so it coats the inside of the glass, then let it dry upside down. This didn’t work so well for me. I had a lot of trouble getting it to look uniform. I finally just sprayed both the inside and outside of the jar and I liked the results a lot better.
This vase is a little bit rustic, and would be really cute as a centerpiece at an event outside or even on a back porch table. I used this spray paint on another little project which I will show you soon too. I still don’t quite have this technique down yet, but I’ll get there!
