When Target asked me to share my picks for wedding gift ideas for their “Be Yourself, Together” promotion, I thought this would be a fun change from all of the holiday posts I’ve been focusing on for the last couple of months. I don’t typically think about wedding gifts in the wintertime, but winter weddings are beautiful and I’ve noticed a trend in people moving toward fall and winter to get married rather than summertime.
It’s fun to give traditional wedding gifts since they are what every couple typically needs, but it’s fun to change things up and throw in a nontraditional gift or two as well. I also love the idea of personalizing any gift, and weddings are no exception. I decided to check out the selection at my local Target store as well as the Target Wedding Catalog and come up with a fun way to make a gift more personal. I like the idea of a “His and Hers” Wine Bar Gift Basket. This would consist of items to stock a wine bar or a bar cart in the couple’s home. Here are some shots I snapped in-store.
Here’s what you would need for this gift package:
- Wine Glasses (Add a personal/DIY touch by etching a monogram or “His” and “Hers” on the glasses using stencils and etching cream)
- Corkscrew
- Decanter
- Ice bucket
- Assorted Bottles of Wine
Aside from this idea, my top 5 gift picks are:
1. Threshold Performance or Fieldcrest Luxury Towels. Every couple needs towels for their new home!
2. Schwinn Legacy Cruisers for him and for her. This fits the bill for one of those “non-traditional” gift ideas I mentioned. Quirky and fun, I’d love to have these bikes!
3. Keurig Coffee Maker. Even for non-coffee drinkers like myself, you can’t go wrong with a Keurig. (I like the hot chocolate K-cups!)
4. A Digital Camera to capture all of those honeymoon memories and to document life together.
5. Threshold Sweater Knit Blanket. You can never have too many blankets, and this one looks cozy and warm.
Now, I’d love to know — what is the best or most unique wedding gift you have received? How do you think could Target products help with recreating that gift? Leave a comment and let me know! Be sure to follow along on social media with hashtag #TargetWedding for lots of wedding gift inspiration.
