BEHRBox Challenge & a Giveaway!

October 12, 2017 By Erin Spain 112 Comments

Disclosure: This post is sponsored by BEHR. All opinions are my own.

I’m so excited to announce a fun challenge that I’m participating in, plus a chance for YOU to win a $100 Home Depot gift card (stay tuned for that at the end of this post).

I’m partnering with BEHR for the #BEHRBox challenge, so they sent me a box of mystery goodies and a gift card to The Home Depot, and I have to make something with some of the items they sent. Whatever I make must fit an assigned theme, and mine is “Reflection.”

See what items I received for the #BEHRBox Challenge!

  • a small round mirror
  • a white fluffy cloth
  • a bundle of fabric
  • a decorative wall switchplate
  • painter’s tape
  • Wooster paintbrushes
  • a picture frame

  • BEHR 2018 Color Trends sample cards

As for the trends, there are 20 color trends curated for 2018 that will help you find the perfect color for any project you might be planning.

The 2018 Color of the Year is called “In the Moment,” and is a beautiful shade of blue/gray/green. It’s a very soothing shade, hence the appropriate name which reminds you to relax and be in the moment. Here are the 3 colors I received.

If you have a nook area or even a small room like a laundry room or half bath, you could use the paint, mirror, and other items in your box to create and refreshing/relaxing place to check yourself in the mirror before walking out the door. The colors on the wall, or on a canvas wld be so relaxing.

Since it is based upon reflection and inspiration I would use the gift card to buy the wood necessary to build a vanity with some sort of built in lighting feature. #BEHRBox I think I would develop wall decor; find another old frame, or two or even more-larger, smaller ; put the smaller one in it; along with the mirror to create a decorative wall collage. Layer the frames, sort of putting one on top of another, asyemetriacally. 3-5 frames or items put together would be nice, depends on the size area needing decor.

A few years ago my family decided to surprise me with a newly painted master bath ( I was away on a trip ). I came home to a half way painted brown master bath. Last month they again decided to surprise me by finishing the painting, except they started with a gray paint…it’s still halfway painted. Now it’s half brown and half grey with tan around the trim. So I would finally and completely paint my master bath and put down flooring over the linoleum. Thanks!

I would use the fabric to make some new pillows or possibly reupholster a side chair. The hooks I would use as a wall decor item. I would hang them up and then maybe hang some vases with some twine and have some flowers peeking out of them. I would want the room to be as Serene and tranquil as possible. It would be the room I will go to for meditation and inspiration for creative projects.

Thank you for the opportunity to win a Home Depot gift cards. Home Depot is one of my favorite stores. I am in the process of having my bathroom remodeled. The color In The Moment would be perfect for my walls because it matches the pretty shade of green decorative tile that I chose to be used in my shower. I plan to paint a small curio cabinet and shelf in that bathroom and the color of Soft Focus would be perfect for those two items and would look lovely against the green walls. I really like the color Wide Sky. I need to paint a small bench on my front porch and that color would be so pretty.

Such cute stuff! I saw the hooks in the box so I would make a jewelry and accessories organizer and paint it cute colors. #BEHRBox

I would repaint my weary Thomasville Hillcrest Oak (Briarwood finish) cabinets. I am so tired of the heavy look of them and your white cathedral tops look fantastic repainted with their Liberty ‘jewelry.’

#BEHRBox..I’ve never done a challenge like this before but it would look nice in the room we are remodeling and I hope it turns out half as good as yours!
