Today I’m excited to share another easy beginner woodworking project! I recently built this DIY book and toy rack for my boys’ room.
Disclosure: This post is sponsored by Kreg. All opinions are my own.
I like the fact that this book rack is narrow and doesn’t take up much floor space, so it would be great in a small space, but you could also modify the dimensions if you want to make it larger.
For this project, I used my favorite pocket hole jig aka the Kreg Jig 520PRO. I love this particular jig because it’s super portable, lightweight, and easy to use.
I painted the book rack in Behr “Gratifying Gray,” and I ordered the furniture feet on Amazon and painted them to match. I love the little gold detail they came with (I taped over that when I painted).
Be sure to head over to the Kreg website for the build plans and full tutorial here.

I love this design and the simple construction. I am definitely going to suggest this to my wife to build for our son’s bedroom. That pocket hole jig is one I have not personally used, but I have bookmarked that link and will probably get that soon for when we build this in our son’s room. So great to have found your blog. Thank you for your time in presenting these ideas.
