DIY Moss Ball Decor

February 1, 2012 By Erin Spain Leave a Comment

Today I have 2 totally unrelated projects, but they are both quick and easy so I thought I would just combine them into one blog post.

DIY Decorative Moss Balls:
I found these on one of my favorite blogs, The Yellow Cape Cod.  All you need is hot glue, green Styrofoam balls, and a package of dried Spanish moss.  All of these can be found at Hobby Lobby, although I ordered mine on eBay.

You just spread hot glue all over the Styrofoam ball, and press and mold the moss around it, packing tightly until it is completely covered.  I already had the wire urn, which used to have more of a brass finish to it.  I just gave it a coat of oil-rubbed bronze spray paint and it was like new again!
This project literally took maybe 5-10 minutes and was very inexpensive.
