There is something special about handmade gift tags. I love using a tag punch and glitter cardstock to create my own, and sometimes when I’m feeling extra crafty, I even like to hand-stamp them. Rather than constantly having to dig out my tag-making craft stash from storage and putting it all away in my card catalog drawers every time I use it, I decided to use this cute little NEW Rubbermaid® fasten + go kit to keep it organized and easy to carry around from room to room.
I use the Rubbermaid® fasten + go sandwich kit, which comes with a base (the perfect size for bread if you’re using it for lunches); 1 side container with 1 cup capacity; 2 snack containers with 1/2 cup capacity each; an outer lid; and a removable strap.
These fasten + go kits are perfect for picnics or school lunches, but as you can see, they’re also perfect for toting around craft supplies. The cute little strap comes in so handy, and I love the size of the whole kit. I decided to use the base container for my twine and ink pads; the side container for my little alphabet stamps; and the snack containers for my hand punched tags.
Here’s what it looks like all stacked up and ready to tote around. You just twist the plastic piece on the top to remove the strap.
If you’re using the fasten + go kits for meals, the smaller containers can be removed for easy customization, and they can also be nested for compact storage. The lids snap to the base to keep them secure when transporting them; they’re BPA-free; and they’re also microwave and dishwasher safe.
There are so many uses for these kits though — aside from using them as a food storage container or to hold craft supplies, you could also use them to organize jewelry, store makeup, tools, Legos (or other toys) while traveling, and so much more.
