I am so excited to announce that I will be coming back to Haven Conference as a mentor again this year! For those of you who aren’t familiar with it, Haven is a blogging conference for the home decor and DIY niche, and it was a game changer for me 7 years ago. The first year of Haven happened to also be my first year of blogging, so I opted to attend since it was here in Atlanta. My mind was blown! I came away with so many actionable items and a massive amount of information about the business of blogging, I didn’t even know where to begin. It was overwhelming in the best possible way. I started implementing as much as I could and turned this blog into a business fairly quickly. Now, 7 years later I am honored to be a mentor at the same blogging conference that changed the course of my career.
As a mentor, I will be facilitating discussions with a small group of bloggers assigned as my mentees, and we will be sharing tips and resources as well as chatting about all things blogging related. I look forward to this conference every year and I can’t stress enough what an amazing resource it is if you are interested in blogging or taking your blog to the next level.
Whenever someone asks me what my favorite thing about Haven is, I always say that I love the fact that you can go and meet friends who are passionate about the same things while learning a ton at the same time. I have made lifelong friends at Haven. They truly are “my people,” and if you attend Haven, then I hope the same will be true for you. I know that sometimes it can be intimidating coming into a large group of people and trying to make connections, but I have found that we are all in the same boat and everyone is truly nice and welcoming.
Charlotte and I have a podcast episode all about reasons why we feel like it is important to attend conferences (episode 47), and you can find it on iTunes, Stitcher, Google Play, or Spotify. Just search “North South Makers.” We also chatted about our experience at Haven Conference last year (episode 44) and the importance of networking in general (episode 39).
