You may have noticed that I was mostly MIA on the blog last week (with the exception of the weekly link party). The main reason is that last weekend we took a trip to Charlotte to visit family, and things were a bit hectic when we got home too, so I haven’t had a chance to write much. However, I have been working a lot behind the scenes and there are currently a lot of updates going on which I can’t wait to share with you soon! I am working on 3 rooms right now: the dining room, living room/office, and family room. While we were in Charlotte, Chris and I did get a chance to do some IKEA shopping and thrifting. (More on that soon.)
One thing we found was this cool old skeleton key. I hope to frame it and mount it on the wall soon. (Right now it’s just resting on a mirror for this photo.)
It’s originally from Paris, and I wish I knew exactly where it came from or had some details on the story behind it. If you are local to Charlotte, I highly recommend checking out By-Gone Days Antiques. They are going out of business soon and they’re selling everything for a steal. It’s mostly salvage type stuff (hardware, lighting, etc.) but if that’s what you’re looking for, then go check them out! (If you follow me on Instagram then you already know all of this. đŸ˜‰
Here are a few other sneak peeks of changes happening, and I’ll be sharing more soon.
Excuse the dusty floor.
Family Room, In-Progress:
Last but not least, I am currently working behind the scenes on a new look for the blog, and I am entertaining the idea of rebranding in general (but continuing with a focus on Home & DIY, of course). I’ll talk more about this soon, but there are several reasons for it. In the meantime, I would love it if you would take a few moments to fill out this survey and leave me some feedback as I work to bring you content that you enjoy while staying true to my own goals as a brand at the same time. Thank you all so much!

Ohhhh I’m in trouble. I live in Charlotte, and I have never heard of that antique store. Definitely plan on checking them out though! Now to convince the hubby. Hmm… Haha Can’t wait to see everything you’re working on!

It’s a tiny hole in the wall shop, but sometimes those are the best! They have tons of pretty antique hardware. Definitely worth checking out!
