Spring has sprung at my house! We moved into our home during the winter when everything was dead and dreary-looking outside, so we had no idea what our yard would look like in the spring. We were told that several things would bloom, but we had no idea what we had to look forward to. Especially since I am absolutely clueless about all things flora-related. I have been pleasantly surprised over these past couple of weeks to watch my yard come to life with blooms of all kinds and colors. One of my favorites is the tree in our front yard (see below). We think it’s some kind of cherry tree. (Leave me a comment if you know for sure what type! I’d love to know.) It is the view from our front master bedroom window and the first thing I see when I open the curtains every morning. What a wonderful way to wake up! I wanted to share these photos with you. Keep in mind, I cannot take credit for any of this as I had nothing to do with planting any of these things. But flowers make me happy, so I hope the photos will do the same for you.

I even picked a little sprig of it to bring inside:

Here are the flowers that have now bloomed in front of the pool house:
This is the area that runs along one side of our fence.
(On the other side of the fence is woods where we often see deer.)
Dogwood tree in our back yard:
Hydrangeas blooming (see below). I was particularly excited about this. Hydrangeas are one of my favorite types of flower, and I had actually planned on planting some. Little did I know, we already had some just waiting to bloom! (Yeah, I’m that clueless.)
Feel free to leave a comment and let me know you stopped by. I LOVE comments and I read them all!
Pretty!
Thanks Kylee!
Great yard and tons of potential! I have a very similar ‘cherry blossom’ tree that hangs over our driveway and looks amazing for about 3 weeks- then turns just green leaves. I will take pics when it blooms. We are in Maine, so probably 3 weeks or so behind you I would assume. Cant wait to see your projects 🙂
Thank you! I’d love to see pics of your tree too! It’s just such a pretty sight to see so many pink flowers. I hope they stay longer than 3 weeks! We’ll see.
I love your yard! You have a healthy backyard, love all the trees!
Thank you! We are enjoying it. We moved here from a townhome which had practically no yard at all, so with 2 boys and 2 dogs it’s been nice to have some outdoor space.
Hey, Erin, we sure did have some beautiful weather this week! Loving it all and your yard looks great too. Happy Spring & I look forward to meeting you at Haven is not before. Wonder what side of town you live on? I’m in Marietta.
Thanks so much, Rhoda. I live in Johns Creek but I’m about 2 seconds from Roswell. Looking forward to meeting you too!
Hi Erin,
Looks like Rhoda and I have the same idea. I’m in Marietta too and attending Haven. Rhoda and I get together for lunch sometimes. Would you like to join us one day?
You’re yard is so pretty and I would kill to have the “pool house” with or without the pool!!
Take care,
Lori
Thanks, Lori! I’d love to join you ladies for lunch sometime. Sounds like fun! Just let me know when and I’ll try to arrange a sitter. I look forward to meeting both of you!
