I’ve been gradually making over our front “loffice” (living room/office), and although there are still some things I want to do in here, it’s come a long way. It started as a catch-all space for all of our storage junk shortly after we moved in, and for several months we didn’t use the room at all. Since I added my desk and turned the room into my workspace, I’ve been spending a lot more time in here. Our small futon ended up in here to provide some seating at first, but we had long planned to replace it with something a little bit more substantial. We finally have a new living room sofa, thanks to Home Decorators Collection.
I chose the Lakewood Tufted Sofa (it comes in a couple of different lengths — ours is the longest), in the Linen Pearl. We absolutely love it! It is super comfortable, and the low profile is actually the perfect height for resting an arm or an elbow on the back while you lounge. (Oh, and I know the picture is too high on the wall but I haven’t gotten around to fixing that yet, and I don’t know yet what I will do with this wall as far as art.)
Although I would probably go with a darker color and different material if this sofa was going to be in a highly trafficked room where the kiddos frequently hang out, I love the light shade and chose it for this space since it is primarily an adult hangout spot and the kids don’t really hang out in here a ton. (With the exception of Jonah who sits in his Bumbo seat or bouncy seat and hangs out while I work.)
I love Home Decorators Collection because they sell beautiful, classic pieces, but keep up with trends at the same time. Also, they always have amazing sales going on. If I had to choose one store to furnish my entire house, they would definitely be at the top of the list. You can check out all of their beautiful seating options here.
