Change the Feel of a Room with Renuzit

September 9, 2013 By Erin Spain 23 Comments

Renuzit Air Fresheners Collective Bias Disclosure #ChooseThemAll #shop

It’s amazing how little details like the fragrance of a room can contribute so much to the overall feel and atmosphere of a space. For example, when I am baking (on the rare occasion that this actually occurs), and the aroma of fresh baked goods fills the air, our house instantly feels more cozy and more like “home.” When I am doing laundry, the smell of clean clothes just makes the house “feel” cleaner. (If I close my eyes really tight, that is, cause with two boys running around, chances are the house isn’t really clean.) But it’s interesting how our sense of smell can affect our perception of a room. No one wants to hang out in a stinky space, right? It makes perfect sense to use fragrance to makeover your home, and that’s what I did thanks to Renuzit Fresh Scents.

I was so excited to receive a box of assorted scents in the mail from Renuzit.

I heard there were way more fragrances to choose from though, so I headed to Walmart to check out the selection. (They also carry them at Kroger and Target.)

Before making the trip, I made a mental note of which rooms I’d like to update with a new scent, and what type of scent I’d like for each space. I decided I’d love to find a Fall scent for the majority of our rooms downstairs.

I took my trusty sidekick Jake with me and we headed out on our search for Renuzit Cones. You can check out my Google+ album here for photos of our shopping trip.

I opted for a case of the apple & cinnamon scent for our rooms downstairs. I thought it was the perfect scent to transition from Summer to Fall.

I placed one of them in our kitchen, entryway, office and family room. Instantly the smell of Fall began wafting through our house. I am so ready for cooler weather, and something about apple and cinnamon just makes it feel like Fall is in the air. This just goes to show that redecorating can be about more than just the look of a space. Fragrance plays a big part in the overall feel of your home too.

I also really like how you can adjust the amount of fragrance these air fresheners release based on how high you lift the top of it.

I decided to go with Simply Vanilla in the downstairs bathroom. Vanilla is a nice year-round scent for any room.

Although I am ready for Fall, I’m always ready for a vacation so I opted to go for a tropical oasis feel in the bedroom sitting area. I chose Tahitian Breeze. All I have to do is close my eyes and I can picture a piña colada in my hand. Nice.

I haven’t seen them sold in bulk like the picture shown. I just had placed, in my laundry closet and bedroom, the apple cinnamon because I wanted the smell of fall. They actually came in a 2 pack. I love how my house smells so fresh after using them!

Hi – This is exactly what my house needs and what I just added to my shopping list for the weekend! With the cooler and dewy mornings – returning from a walk with the dog in the mornings – my house is overcome with “wet dog”smell. I’ll definitely give these a try and would also welcome a coupon if I’m the lucky one! 😉 Thanks for posting your honest opinions! Now to get back to finishing up my shopping list……..

I really need to try these with 2 teens that play sports! Need I say more! I never burn candles upstairs where there rooms are for safety reasons, so these would be perfect. Thanks for recommending the vanilla and apple! On the grocery list! -Christy

I tend to get seasonal fragrances – citrus ones in the summer and spiced ones in the fall and winter. I love using these in the laundry room where we have our cat box.

I love the scents that you chose for each room, especially the apple cinammon. It is one of my favorite scents. I love the vanilla too. They are both nice fragrances that are pleasing and not overwhelming when you walk into the room. This is a nice post. Thanks for sharing. -Laurie

I used to burn seasonal candles around our house but with an into-everything toddler and another child on the way, we gave up candles – these cones would be awesome to bring seasonal scents back into our home! Just added them to my Target shopping list 🙂

I have seen them but have been skeptical if it would smell good or if the scent would last. Would not want to invest on something I am not confident on. I am now thinking of giving it a try.

I’m a vanilla, lingonberry or fresh baked cookie kind of girl. I saw a commercial for these yesterday with all kinds of “Fabios” and it was hilarious!
