Deck Makeover Plans

May 8, 2017 By Erin Spain 2 Comments

Our back deck has been in need of some major TLC since we moved into our home 3 years ago. We did stain the deck, but then we kind of just let it go since it wasn’t at the top of our priority list. Well I’m happy to say that is (finally) changing! (This post contains affiliate links.)

Here’s the sad “before” aka what it looked like for way too long. This is actually really embarrassing.

Deck makeover "before"

The rocking chairs are rotten and falling apart and need to be trashed, the deck itself needs a good cleaning, the table and benches need cleaned and stained, and we need an actual seating area, plants, etc.

I’m teaming up with Leisure Made Patio Furniture for a fun back deck makeover, and I wanted to share a little sneak peek of what I have planned for back here. Here’s a little mood board I put together.

Deck makeover plans: a moodboard.

First, I need to re-stain theĀ table and benches that I built. I plan on adding a rug, pillows, accessories, and plants. I’ve ordered a bunch of stuff already so it should come together over the next few weeks, and I’ll share the “after” very soon, as well as more info on the furniture I recently received from Leisure Made. (They aren’t sponsoring this post, but they did provide the furniture I’ll be sharing with you soon!)

Now, if only we could have a rain-free weekend so I could stain the table! Stay tuned.

Exciting! We’re working on rebuilding most of our sad, not particularly stable deck right now….I’ll be glad to get past that part to the fun part where I get to make it look pretty :). Love that rug!

Oh no fun! But I’m sure the rebuild will be totally worth it in the end. Ours could really stand to be re-stained but I am procrastinating for another year and just doing the fun stuff instead. Haha!
