One of the many fun things about blogging is the fact that I have a chance to discover new brands, sites and products and then share them with you. One of my latest discoveries is myWebRoom.com, a fun website that allows you to design your dream room, bookmark your favorite sites, discover content, and shop. (Note: You do need a desktop computer for this site as it does not work on mobile.)
I had so much fun playing around and designing my own room. There are lots of room themes to choose from, and you can change your room theme anytime you want.
One feature is the Room for Creative Minds, where more than 300 resources for artists and designers have been handpicked for the room. You can click on various pieces of decor and furniture in the room to access different bookmark folders full of fun items to choose from for your space. This is the design theme that I used, and you can read more about the room on the myWebRoom blog.
I really like that you can actually “shop” the items in each room. Mine has several items from Wayfair, plus some from Urban Outfitters and Etsy, which I love. When you click on an item, you can see where it is from and click through to purchase it if you’d like.
Here are some screenshots of the room I designed:
You can click on each item in the room to change it and there is a large catalog of items to choose from. You can even choose your pet! (I went with a golden retriever since I didn’t see an Indy/rat terrier lookalike.)
This is a fun way to discover new products and decor while also visualizing it in a “virtual” room. It’s also a great way to get creative and practice designing spaces. While this may not be representative of what my home looks like in real life, I loved having a chance to try different looks and play around with mixing and matching different pieces.
