If you are a thrifter, or a lover of vintage or estate sale fare, then you are going to be very excited about the company I am introducing you to today. Everything But The House is an online estate sale and consignment sale company based in Cincinnati, Columbus, Lexington, Indianapolis and Nashville, but I am so happy to announce that they are expanding to more cities this year, including Atlanta!
Everything But The House is an auction site, and item bids always start at $1.00. There are 30-35 sales per month, and there are all sorts of items from furniture, to home decor, to jewelry and more. This is an awesome way to get ahold of vintage goodies for a low price. They are expanding to 8 new markets this year: Atlanta, Boston, Washington, D.C., Denver, Dallas, Chicago, Los Angeles and the Florida Gulf Coast. So if you’re in any of those areas, be on the lookout!
Everything But The House allows bidders to discover unique, hard to find pieces, and sellers are able to discover the hidden value of items in their homes while hiring one company to help them liquidate their entire home. EBTH comes in and sorts and photographs everything for the seller, compiling the items into a catalog as well as arranging for pickup of items that need to be donated or thrown away. If the seller just has a few items to sell, EBTH arranges for a consignment sale and the seller can drop off items at their warehouse to be photographed and listed on the site. They handle all the details of every sale, in effect handling “everything but the house,” hence the name. The site has over 100,000 registered users from across the globe, and every online sale attracts around 10,000 unique visitors.
As you can imagine, it is a treasure trove to explore. The great thing is that everything is laid out in front of you on the site, and it’s easy to navigate and find what you’re looking for without having to rummage through someone’s house like at an actual estate sale. From the first few minutes I spent browsing the site, I instantly fell in love with several items. You can search by city, category or date, so it’s easy to find what you’re looking for and/or see when sales are happening near you. I love the concept of an online estate sale, especially since I’m a busy mom and don’t really have time to run around town to a bunch of sales (although I would love to). This allows me to shop for vintage goods from the comfort of my own home. And if you happen to be someone looking to liquidate your home or sell a bunch of old stuff, how convenient is this? They do all the work for you. Pretty amazing.
Now for the fun part…
