If you follow me on Instagram, then you are well aware of my history with garage workshop organization challenges. I have always had a tendency to be messy and have cluttered, chaotic spaces, and my workshop has always been the worst of it.
One of my big goals when I moved to my new home was to live a more minimalist, organized life with less clutter. A better functioning workshop was at the top of my priority list, so I am so excited to be partnering with Troy-Bilt on this workshop overhaul.
Disclaimer: This post is sponsored by Troy-Bilt. All opinions are my own.
You may remember last year I partnered with Troy-Bilt on their Fence Talks program and we chatted about neighbor issues, and I received some expert advice from a therapist that they matched me up with for the collaboration.
This time, I am thrilled to share that Troy-Bilt will be matching me up with another expert, this time on organization! Toni from A Bowl Full of Lemons will be assisting me with my garage organization project, and I will be sharing her tips and advice with all of you. Here’s the hot mess we’re dealing with:
Needless to say, it’s impossible to find anything I need. Basically everything is exactly where the movers left it on the day I moved in, with a couple of small exceptions. And I’ve made several trips to the recycling center but the boxes keep multiplying so I am going to have to make a few more trips.
I did buy a label maker and several bins so I’m hoping to whip this space into shape quickly. I’m just looking forward to actually being able to find my tools again!
And here’s how much I have to zoom in whenever I’m working on a project because everything surrounding this workbench is pure chaos.
My goal is to have a dedicated woodworking area and a better organization system for all of my tools that makes it easier to find everything.
Everything needs a dedicated spot, and I would love to be able to roll my workbench out of the way and have plenty of floor space to work. The problem is, I never even know where to start.
I get overwhelmed just thinking about tackling that space, so I am so happy to have Toni’s help with this. She’s already shared some great tips and guidance and I will be sharing all of that with you in a few weeks.
Stay tuned and I’ll be sharing the final reveal very soon along with Toni’s expert organizing advice!
Update: You can see the finished project here!

Hello! Thanks for such an interesting post! It seems to me that when the workshop is organized it already makes us much more productive and focused on important things than when our workplace is cluttered and disorganized. When I was not keeping an eye on my workplace in the workshop, it was much less pleasant for me to work and I spent a lot of time looking for this or that tool, but after I organized my workspace, I became 50 percent more productive.
