Guest Post: Money Bouquet from seven thirty three

June 6, 2012 By Erin Spain 3 Comments

Hello! If you missed it before, I am taking a few days off to visit with family, so I’ve lined up a few awesomely creative guest bloggers to share their fabulous project ideas with you. Today’s guest is Kim from seven thirty three. Check out her blog for lots of inspiration! She is sharing a great gift idea with us today. I’ll let her take it from here!

Hi DIY On the Cheap readers!  I’m Kim and I blog over at seven thiry three where you’ll find lots of creative projects, tutorials, parties and free printables.  Today I’m going to share an easy little gift for that hard-to-buy for person.  I came up with this idea on the fly this past Christmas and am pretty happy with the result!

A Money bouquet!

Supplies, other than bills:

Soup bowl, large coffee mug or flower vase

Shredded paper

Lollipop sticks

Tape that is easily rmoved

Step 1 – fold the bill accordion style.

2. Fold your accordion in half.

{I was the photographer and the model, so I apologize for the focus issue!}

3. Match the ends and then tape it together.

4.  Do the same to the other side.

5. Tape the stick to the back of the flower.

You’re done!  Do up as many as you want – I did 5 one’s, 2 five’s, and 1 ten.  Grab a soup mug or regular coffee mug, stuff it with some paper shreds and arrange your flowers.  I also added a Merry Christmas topper that I then punched out with my scallop punch and glued to a stick.

What other ways do you give money?  I’ve also done a pop top can and a money lei.
Thanks for having me today Erin and I hope everyone will stop by to say hi!
Happy Creating! ~Kim
