You may have noticed that cleaning the house seems to be a running theme in my life right now. Since we are spending the holidays at home this year, we have a lot of family members coming to visit throughout the season to see the new baby. I don’t want our house to be a total pig sty, although it is a challenge with 3 kids, one of whom is still a newborn and requires round the clock care. I’m all about finding ways to get the cleaning done as quickly and painlessly as possible. I was introduced to the O-Cedar Pro-Mist and it has made my life so much easier!
As I’ve mentioned before, one major challenge with our home in particular is that the entire house has hardwood floors, most of which are dark, which means every speck of dirt, dust and dog hair shows. I have found it extremely difficult to keep them clean.
Yuck. And don’t even get me started on the playroom.
Vacuuming isn’t always enough, especially when you have little boys who magically manage to leave behind a random trail of sticky goo throughout the house. I picked up the Pro-Mist spray mop at Wal-Mart along with a replacement microfiber cloth.
Toward the end of my pregnancy especially, it was becoming increasingly impossible to lug a mop bucket around sloshing dirty mop water all over the place, and lifting it since it was heavy. Because of this, it wasn’t exactly easy to get the kids involved with this particular chore either. Therefore, the floors stayed dirty instead. I love that the Pro-Mist Spray Mop is lightweight, you can use any cleaning solution you want with it, and it comes with a microfiber cloth that is machine washable up to 100 times. It is beyond convenient.
Oh, and the best part of all? My children love it too! Jake jumped at the chance to help me mop, which literally never happens. He kept saying, “Can I have a turn now? I want to mop!”. Go right ahead, son.
We were able to mop the upstairs hall in a matter of minutes, including prepping the mop for use. No sloshing buckets around, no heavy lifting. You can see why I have to constantly clean these floors, just check out the stampede at end of the hall.
I also love that the kids wanted to get involved, so I incorporated the Pro-Mist into their chore chart. Getting them to clean is like pulling teeth, but we are working on it. At least this is one chore they won’t fight me on! My boys are only 4 and 6, so I tried to keep their chore checklist somewhat realistic and manageable. They each have three chores per day, including “making their beds,” which really just consists of them pulling their sheets up and making some sort of effort to make the beds presentable.
Here is an example of Aiden’s chart (although we will be taking it easy on chores over their holiday break.):

The Pro-Mist is extremely affordable and gets the job done quickly and easily, so I highly recommend it for that last minute holiday cleaning before your guests arrive.

The O-Cedar Pro Mist Spray Mop seems great! I am sure that my kids will have a lot of fun cleaning the floor if I have this mop! I have two kids. One is 3 years-old and the other is 6. I am trying to involve them in the house work so we can spend more time doing something together and teach them responsibilities. It is hard to say if they are actually helping me clean or make stuff dirty but we’re having fun. I need to make a age appropriate chore chart and you give me some great ideas! Thanks for sharing!
