I’ve been playing around with our living room office since I added the modern blue dresser and Quatrefoil wall art, and the next step is deciding what color to paint the walls. I have a lot of paint left over from my dining room makeover (which I have painted but haven’t shown you yet! Stay tuned next week.), so I am thinking of carrying that over into the office. It’s a soft gray called Revere Pewter by Benjamin Moore.
Here is the office in its current state:
Our dining room is connected to this room, and it’s pretty small so I went ahead and stashed two of our dining chairs in here flanking the dresser. It’s close enough that I can just grab them and pull them up to the table when we have guests. I’m also playing around with pillows – these are usually on the couch in here. I switched these around with the yellow chevron and am trying to debate which ones should go where. I’ve been experimenting with arrangements on the dresser too – for now, this is just stuff I grabbed from around the room.
Here’s a pic of the pillows arranged the other way, with the chevron on the chairs:
The “office” side of this room needs some work, which is why it is not pictured (except for a teeny peek in the photo below.) We’ll get to that next. I also need to make some curtains (whether I learn how to sew them or go for my usual “no-sew” style is to be determined).
Stay tuned next week for a giveaway from Apartment Guide, plus there is still time to enter the HomeZada giveaway, so head over there and enter to win! I’ll also be showing you my dining room makeover (phase 1), and I’ll tell you all about my little guy’s 2nd birthday party happening this weekend. I plan on posting a Frugal Friday post tomorrow, but I’m considering changing those to just the first Friday of each month. Thoughts?
Also, what are your thoughts on paint color for this room? I’d love to hear what you think!

Your living room is looking great! I love the yellow chevron pillows next to the dresser. It gives that area a stylish pop. I actually think the color you have on your walls now looks fine which is funny since I usually want to paint everything.. I think many different choices would work beautifully for you since you already have a great arrangement. It just depends on what type of feel you want to bring to the room.
I had been trying to decide for years what color to paint my two story living room. I finally took a chance and decided to go bold with black chalkboard paint. It’s so different but I love it!
Good luck with your paint selection. I look forward to seeing what fun color you choose.

Thanks so much! I think I like the chevron on the chairs too, so I’ll probably leave them there. As for the walls, they look better in the photo than in person. They are a yellowy cream color but there are lots of scuffs and holes and stuff that need repaired, so painting is a must.
Chalkboard paint sounds like so much fun in a living room!

LOVING that blue dresser! Such a statement piece! I think Revere Pewter would be awesome there. I recently used it in our laundry room and front porch, and just yesterday, re-painted my craft room/office with it!! It’s a fave. Have a fab weekend, Kerri, A Pop of Pretty 🙂

Thank you Kerri! I love Revere Pewter in my dining room so I’m thinking I’ll probably go with that for the living room too.
