If you have children, pets, or messy husbands, or if you ever drink wine or soda, or basically just live life outside of a protective bubble, then keeping your carpet clean may be a struggle. But guess what? I was recently introduced to something that will change all that. Mohawk SmartStrand Carpet is seriously amazing. My boys and I attended the Atlanta Dogwood Festival over the weekend, which happened to be one of the stops on the Mohawk License to Spill tour. We were given the opportunity to see first-hand why this carpet is so much better than any other carpet on the market.
My boys had a blast getting this carpet as messy as possible with spray bottles filled with soy sauce and grape juice. I kept thinking about the fact that if we did this at home, our carpet would definitely be ruined.
But after all of the splattering and staining, we watched as a simple rinse with water washed all of the stains away. No chemicals, no carpet cleaner, no scrubbing with a rag. Literally just water! After seeing this demo, I was thoroughly impressed.
So what makes Mohawk SmartStrand carpet different? Well, most carpets have stain and soil protection applied topically to the fiber. After a while, daily wear and tear makes this protective coating wear off, causing the carpet to look worn out and dirty. With SmartStrand, the stain protection is built into the fiber itself, so it will never wear off and you will never have to reapply it. This carpet is seriously easy to clean – I saw this first-hand. You don’t need harsh chemicals or carpet cleaners. All you need is a dish rag, warm water and mild detergent (like dish soap) – although I saw stains disappear with nothing but water! Even wine and kool-aid will disappear easily. I totally understand why this carpet is rated #1 in consumer satisfaction. Not only is this carpet durable and stain-resistant, but it’s soft and pretty too! There are many colors available, and I absolutely love the patterned options also. Mohawk is the world’s largest flooring manufacturer and sells through retail partners, so if you are interested in purchasing this carpet, it shouldn’t be difficult to find.
Not only did the boys love making a mess on the carpet, but Smallcakes Cupcakery was serving Georgia Peach cupcakes in the License to Spill booth, which made our day even better! Yum.
We also watched the BetterTV Crew and Markina Brown of Better Mornings Atlanta as they filmed at the License to Spill booth.
And by the way, how cute is this little cowboy?
Be sure to head over to the License to Spill page and enter to win your own 6’x9′ SmartStrand Silk bound carpet rug! (I’d love to have one for our play room.) For updates and more info, connect with Mohawk on Twitter and Facebook. Also, check out their upcoming tour stops here.
What kind of carpet messes do you stress about? Wouldn’t it be nice to know you don’t have to worry about stains ever again?

Erin,
It looks like you had a great time! I bet your boys had fun messing up the carpet samples, something they can’t do at home. It would be great not having to worry about those spills and especially when the dog tracks in mud. Argh!
Those cupcakes look so yummy too!

Thank you Deneen! I think it would be next to impossible to stain this carpet, which seriously amazed me.

Thanks Pamela! Hope you and those sweet kiddos are doing well. And I agree, so smart of Mohawk to let people test this carpet themselves!
