I wanted to go ahead and give you a little photo tour of our new home before we move in and it turns into complete chaos, so you can see it as a totally blank slate. Please excuse the lighting, etc., as these photos were taken quickly during our inspection. I also put together a little video tour for you which I will share later this week.
Welcome to our new home!

When you walk into the house, the stairs are straight ahead. Here is the entryway.

Β And the stairs:

The living room (which will be my office) is on the right when you enter the house.

On the opposite side of the front door is the dining room.

Straight through the foyer is the kitchen.

Next to the kitchen is our family room.

If you head back through the kitchen, it leads you to the back staircase which leads up to the play room. The laundry room is tucked behind the staircase.

If we head back up the main staircase in front, it will lead you to a long hallway with all of the bedrooms.

There are 5 bedrooms, but the 5th will be a playroom/guest space. The other rooms will be the boys’ shared room, Chris’ office, and a guest bedroom. It’s hard to differentiate them in the photos since they’re all empty and pretty much look the same, but here are a few shots.

I’ll be sharing lots more soon (including the video tour) so stay tuned!

I can’t believe that home was a foreclosure–it’s in beautiful condition! (Love all the fabulous moulding.)Congrats, Erin! I will enjoy following along as you add all your personal touches.
Thanks so much Gina! We were really surprised that it was a foreclosure too. There are some issues with the basement which we are addressing as soon as we move in, but other than that it’s in good condition.
It’s gorgeous, Erin!! Congrats – can’t wait to see how you decorate it!
Thank you Julia!
Oh and I absolutely love the dark hardwood floors, the white cabinetry in the kitchen, and breakfast nook with a view to the outside. Beautiful!

Thanks so much, Nadine!
beautiful home!!! I can’t believe THAT is a foreclosure! it’s dream home worthy (at least from my CA perspective where homes like that would cost millions!)
Thanks so much, Brittany! We were surprised it was a foreclosure too — there are some issues with the basement needing waterproofed but other than that nothing major. I know that real estate is super expensive out in California, but at least you guys have amazingly gorgeous weather as a trade-off. π
How very exciting. Can’t wait to see the transformation!
Thank you Denise!
ry nice. I can’t wait to see what you do to it!
Thanks so much Myrna!
Beautiful. I know you can’t wait to get in there and do your magic.
Thank you Rosemary! Yes, I am looking forward to lots of projects!
Erin! I am so excited for you! Your home is beautiful with lots of space for all of your needs. I am looking forward to see how you are going to create the space to make it your own.
Thank you Angie! π
ooh, look at all the hardwoods–so pretty! It’s a lot like our house…also a foreclosure–hope you love it as much as we’re loving ours :).
Thank you Gretchen! Glad you’re enjoying your home! The foreclosure process was stressful and drawn out but so glad it’s over — hopefully will be worth the wait!
LOVE your new house, Erin! The wood floors are gorgeous, I love that you are putting your office in that room with the bay windows – I love natural light to work in, and your entryway reminds me so much of YHL’s entryway.
So excited to see all your new projects – you certainly have a really good base to work with! Now the fun decorating part begins (after all the unpacking… π
Oh, and even the outside reminds me of YHL’s new house. And that workshop in the garage… my husband and I would have to fight over whose it would be = we would both love it! π
Thanks so much Christina!
Love it! Congratulations again!
Thank you Julia!
