I recently showed you the progress I’ve (finally) made in the living room, and today I want to talk about painting the walls. I took the plunge and painted last week, and I am really excited to share with you something I used which made the job go way faster.
I had the opportunity to try out the HomeRight PaintStick EZ-Twist, and this tool literally saved me so much time!
Basically, the PaintStick EZ-Twist “sucks” paint into its handle directly from the can, and feeds the paint to the roller cover so you don’t have to keep dipping your roller in the paint tray. The paint is already inside the PaintStick, and you simply twist the handle to apply more paint to the roller as you go along.
I can’t say enough good things about this. It’s so handy! My husband even gave it a try.
It’s the perfect length too, so you can reach the entire wall. I would say it easily cut my painting time in half. As a busy mom, any tool that saves me time automatically makes me happy!
As for the wall color, I used Benjamin Moore’s Edgecomb Gray in an eggshell finish. The original paint color (seen below, on the right) was more of a yellowy tan/beige, and the new color (on the left) has more of a gray undertone but is still a light neutral tan color. It brightens the room and has less of that “builder beige” vibe.
Here’s what the room looks like now. We still have a long way to go, but we’re making progress!
We still have lots of rooms to paint, so I’m very happy to have this PaintStick EZ-Twist to finish the job way more quickly. For more information on all of the great products HomeRight offers, check them out here and connect with them on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, YouTube and Instagram.
