If you missed it yesterday, I posted Part 1 of my trip to Savannah – all about shopping! Just to recap, I took a girls’ trip to Savannah with 3 friends while our husbands held down the fort with the kiddos. Today I want to focus on the beautiful sights we saw along with the architecture of the buildings there. This post is pretty much all about photos.
Here we are at our first stop – lunch on the way into town. We all have little boys at home so we had to pose in front of the giant Ironman for them. (I’m on the far left.)
This picture cracks me up. We totally don’t look like tourists at all, do we? |
Here we are in Forsyth Park. |
One of my favorite things that we did was take a cinema tour, where we were able to see several locations where movies were filmed around town. We were shown a scene from each film on an iPad while we stood exactly where the camera filmed the shot. We learned a lot of interesting trivia too! We saw the home where the movie Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil was shot, which also happens to be the same spot where the actual murder took place. (If you haven’t read the book or seen the movie, I highly recommend it! I had seen the movie years ago but we watched it the night of the cinema tour since we had just been to the scene.)

The movie The Conspirators was filmed here. |
I love the Spanish Moss in the trees. |
The movie The Legend of Bagger Vance was filmed here. It is a private residence. |

Brick and cobblestone. Love. |
Another shot of the beautiful trees. |
Love these homes. |
Love the architecture. |

We had a great time getting away and recharging our “mommy” batteries, but we were all happy to get home and see our babies again. This was my first visit to Savannah, and I absolutely loved it! I can’t wait to go back sometime.
If you’ve been to Savannah, what do you love about it? Do you ever go on girls’ weekend trips to recharge?

Love Savannah! My husband and I have spend several weekends there. We did the bus tour which was really good too – you could see all 20+ squares and hear some of the history behind them all. Plus you could get off at certain points and tour houses or places. Love all the old houses and architecture there.
