We are thankful for so many things, but this year we have an extra special reason to be thankful. On Tuesday, we welcomed our sweet baby boy into the world! (Yes, another precious BOY! If you’re keeping track, that makes 3. I will remain the queen of the house!)
Meet Jonah.
I am normally pretty private about my children, so you don’t see their cute little faces very often on the blog, but I wanted to share this sweet photo with you and say thank you all so very much for your thoughts and prayers throughout this pregnancy, as well as those of you who prayed for us while we struggled to conceive this precious child. It was a long road, but he was well worth the wait.
We hope to be going home today — I know his big brothers are anxious to have us home.
I hope you all have a wonderful day celebrating with friends and family. Happy Thanksgiving!
You can see Jonah’s nursery here if you missed it before.
If you choose to, you can also read our very personal story of how we struggled with secondary infertility and miscarriage while trying to conceive our third child. As you can see, the story has a happy ending! Here is Part 1 and Part 2.

Erin, congratulations to you & yours on the new house but more so for the new addition. Jonah is beautiful. May he be healthy, happy & a blessing to you and your family. Enjoy your little ones, all too soon they will be young men & going their own ways, it seems like it happens in a blink of an eye–just not while your living it, right now you may be wondering why you ever had one much less three; at least that’s how it felt to me & still feels now, my only child (son) is 30 years old & all I did was blink.
I haven’t been following your blog for long but enjoy it & have already learned a few things from you about painting furniture, I hope to be able to do more painting after carpal tunnel surgery. Where did you find the beautiful wood bowls in the pictures? Wishing all of you a very Merry Christmas & a Happy New Year

Thank you so much for your sweet message, Laura! My oldest son is 6 years old and that happened in the blink of an eye, so I’m sure they will be all grown up before I know it. I’m trying to treasure every moment since I know it flies by fast.
The wood bowls actually came from thrift stores! The smaller one came from Goodwill and the other came from an antique shop/thrift store.

I just found your blog, and was looking through your projects page. Congratulations on your sweet bundle of joy, and welcome to the world Jonas! Such a sweet picture. Personally my husband and I are awaiting the arrival of our second child, another boy, due early April (so he very well could be born in March). I am glad your story got such a beautiful, happy ending. His brother will be 2 by the time he is here, so we aren’t sure how he will react, but we think they’ll soon become friends.
I loved your nursery project and think the gray and gold is beautiful. I think it works perfectly with the ducky theme I’m going to have for our next child.

Oops, I meant Jonah, too bad I can’t edit it.

Hi Sarah! Thanks so much for your comment, and congratulations on the upcoming arrival of your sweet son! Our older two boys are 2 years apart and they are absolutely inseparable best friends. Of course they bicker too, but it is such a blessing to see the bond they have and the fact that they really are best friends. They play together and keep each other entertained so well. I think two years is the perfect age gap. There are 4 years between my middle and youngest so the older two are great helpers and love their baby brother very much, but the dynamic is quite different with him being so much younger. My oldest son’s birthday is April 3, so maybe he will share a birthday with yours! You never know. Good luck with everything!

I just finished reading all 3 of your posts about your 2 miscarriages (I’m so sorry) and your baby Jonah. Thanks so much for being transparent about your feelings and how you grieved. I’m so glad that you and your husband didn’t give up on your desire to have another baby and so happy that the Lord answered your prayers.

Thank you so much, Bonnie. That means a lot! We feel very blessed and so thankful. Our little Jonah is now about to turn 2 years old and we can’t imagine life without him.
