If you follow me on Instagram then you’ve gotten some sneak peeks of this already, but I wanted to let you in on one of the many things happening in my life right now. We are currently preparing to sell a townhouse that we’ve owned for many years and kept as a rental, but in order to put it on the market there are several renovations that need to be done. We’ve opted to hire it out since the townhouse isn’t close enough to where we live now for us to take on the job, plus with our limited time and our desire to get it on the market quickly, it just wasn’t feasible to DIY. Feast your eyes on the “before” pics, and please excuse the photo quality. Here is the living room:
This was our starter home we purchased almost 14 years ago, and we moved out over 7 years ago, when our two oldest boys were very small. After renting it out all these years, the carpet now reeks of pet odor and cannot be salvaged so we need all new flooring, the whole place desperately needs to be painted, the bathrooms need updated, the kitchen needs some love. Basically, we have our work cut out for us.
Here are the dining room and kitchen:
And here’s a small sun room off of the dining room:

Here are the other two small bedrooms:
This one used to be our nursery. Lots of memories rocking babies in this room:

Since I’m not doing the project myself, I won’t be sharing tutorials, but I will share progress as it goes along and show you the before and after.
I’ve also taken on a second job in addition to my blog, and I am doing freelance photography and social media work for a local wholesale floral company. If you’re interested in more life updates or behind the scenes stuff, be sure to follow me over on Instagram.
Have you ever hired a contractor for renovations? This is a first for me so if you have any advice, I’m all ears!
