Bedroom Refresh Blog Tour with Crane & Canopy

March 10, 2016 By Erin Spain 8 Comments

Disclosure: This post is in partnership with Crane & Canopy. All opinions are my own.

Hey friends—I have a fun post to share with you today! I’m teaming up with some other bloggers for a bedroom refresh blog tour in partnership with Crane & Canopy, and we are all showing you our bedrooms! Well, I’m showing you my bed anyway. I’m in the middle of a room makeover so you’ll see the rest of the room during the One Room Challenge. But today, Camila from Effortless Style has put together this fun tour, so I’ll give you a peek at my progress. If you’re hopping over from The Idea Room, welcome!

For this blog tour, each of us received a gorgeous duvet and set of shams from Crane & Canopy to style and share with you. I chose the Linden Grey Border duvet and shams, and it is classic and beautiful.

If you’re not familiar with Crane & Canopy, they deliver high quality modern bedding without the middleman, which means they’re able to provide the consumer with the best possible price without sacrificing quality. They design their patterns and then take them straight to the warehouse to have them produced, which cuts out unnecessary steps and saves us all money. Sounds like a win to me!

Did you know that 1000 thread count sheets are actually not good? I always thought the higher the thread count, the better, but apparently that’s not the case. I learned that in order to get a thread count that high, you actually have to use super thin threading, so it’s best to stay in the 300-400 thread count range for duvet covers or sheets. I had no idea! Their duvet covers are machine washable—a must in this house. They also have corner ties and easy care zippers.

Another thing I learned is that this week is National Sleep Awareness Week, which focuses on the healthy benefits of sleep, and is a totally ironic thing for me to post about since I have a toddler who loves to wake his mommy up at all hours of the night. But nevertheless, sleep is wonderful and I need more of it in my life. In honor of such an occasion, we thought it would be fun for all of the participating bloggers to answer a few questions for our readers, so without further adieu:

1. Ok, so tell us the truth, how many throw pillows are actually on your bed? 1? 5? more?

Well, since I’ve been working on a bedroom makeover for about a hundred years, there have been zero! But now there is one, and pretty soon there will be 3 throw pillows, 3 regular pillows, and 2 king size pillows in shams.

2. What’s your favorite show or book to read before you go to bed?

I don’t watch much TV, but when I do I have to sadly admit that my guilty pleasure is any show on Bravo. If I’m reading, it’s either an assigned book for my book club or my women’s circle at church. I also love reading magazines and writing in journals for my kids. Aside from those, I don’t have much time. More often than not, you’ll find me sitting in bed typing on my laptop, which is actually what I’m doing right this minute!

3. For a cozy bed, proper bedding is a must. What is your favorite bedding company?

Honestly, I can’t say that I previously had a favorite because I didn’t know much about bedding in general. I’ve never really owned high quality bedding until now, so I have to say that I am beyond impressed with Crane & Canopy.

4. What’s your wake up call in the morning? An old school alarm clock? Your cell phone? Your kids? Your pet?

My wake-up call is a toddler named Jonah. I always set my cell phone alarm just to make sure I’m up in time to get my older two boys ready for school, but it’s never needed since their baby brother does the honors of waking his mama up bright and early.

5. Favorite breakfast in bed meal?

Hmm… Sadly I don’t think I’ve ever had breakfast in bed. That sounds nice. Does sharing half a graham cracker with a one year-old count?
