I’m (slowly) getting back into my blogging routine after taking some time off for the holidays, immediately followed up with taking a break to care for sick kiddos. We’ve all had a nasty cold, and my 2 year-old got hit with the bad cold, plus the flu and an ear infection. Talk about no fun! Anyway, I hope to get back into a regular schedule very soon. Now for the fun stuff. We recently took a trip up to Indiana to visit my family for Christmas, and we stayed at my mom and step-dad’s house. Not too long ago, they renovated their kitchen, so I thought I’d snap a few shots and share before and after photos with you. It’s always fun to see a room transformation.
Here it is Before, in all it’s 80’s cabinet glory. (This was taken during a wall demo – they added a cut-out looking into the dining area.):
And here it is After. Big change, right?

I lovvvvvvvve the banquette! The kitchen looks great.
Thanks! I know my mom will love hearing this. 🙂
I love it, It went from dark to bright and airy!
Thanks Jacque! It definitely made a huge difference in there – much brighter!
Love! I had her “before” cabinets in my last house…and bless your mother, because they were simply awful to live with.
Thanks, Tracie! Yeah, she definitely hated those old cabinets. She’s much happier with her new ones!
Unbelievable. Looks gorgeous! Love that seating arrangement!
Thanks Megan! My mom will appreciate that.
AH MAZING transformation! Love it – so gorgeous!
Thank you Chelsea, on behalf of my mom! 🙂
Oh my… this looks amazing! I love everything about it! What an awesome kitchen re-do!
Thanks Katie!
WOW!! This looks fabulous!
Thanks Donna! I agree. 🙂
Looks great! I actually just started to fix up my new kitchen. (up on my site today) As budget allows, it will keep getting better. =)
Thanks, I’ll be sure to check yours out too!
Oh YES, I do! Love this kitchen transformation — bet your Mom does, too! Hope everyone is healthy again, Erin… we all battled the crud as well. :/
Look forward to seeing you at the ATL bloggers meet-up on Saturday ~ xo Heidi
Thanks Heidi! We are feeling better and slowly getting back into a routine. See you on Saturday!
Wow! the kitchen looks fantastic 🙂
Thank you!
I love before and after shops. What a lovely transformation, I bet they’re so happy!
Thank you! Yes, they are very pleased with their new kitchen.
It’s so nice to see that people are finally moving away from those soooo dark cherry cabinets that were all the rage not too long ago. The kitchen looks so bright and happy.
Maude
Thanks, Maude. I agree. I love bright, white kitchens!
Your mom’s kitchen looks clean and fresh. The previous one may seem more sophisticated, but the present kitchen defines clarity. The white coat matched well with the stainless steel appliances. Anyhow, the banquette is what I like the most. I feel like getting one for my own kitchen. It’s great to create wonderful conversations with the other members of the family there.
Thanks Herb! The banquette is my favorite part too. 🙂
The table looks extremely cozy to sit at with guests, I would love to cook and eat in your home! Keep it up!
