Organizing and Displaying Holiday Cards {+ our Snowy Holiday}

December 30, 2012 By Erin Spain 6 Comments

Organize and Display Holiday Cards by making them into a banner

I know that Christmas is over, but we received so many beautiful cards – many of them with photos of the people we love most – that I couldn’t bring myself to stash them away just yet. I want to enjoy them throughout the month of January, so I decided to make them into a Holiday Card Banner which hangs near our foyer.

I simply used a mini hole-punch to punch holes in the corners, and then I strung them with red and white baker’s twine. I used scotch tape to hang them on the cabinets, but Command hooks would work great too.

Now we get to enjoy these sweet messages and photos for a little while longer. Especially since we didn’t spend Christmas at home.

P.S. Isn’t this artwork precious? It was made by my 4 year-old son at pre-school, and yes I might have cried when he gave it to me.

Sweet Pre-school artwork

As for the holidays, we spent Christmas with my family in Indiana. The boys got to play in the snow for the first time, and they had a blast! Here are a few precious snapshots.

The blizzard brought us around 10 inches or so.

Here are my Southern boys attempting to make a snowman.

Building a Snowman

I named it “Frosty the Snowblob,” but they preferred to call it “Jabba the Snowhut.”

Frosty the Snowblob

Their favorite part wasn’t building Frosty – it was destroying him.

Hope your holiday was wonderful too, and hope all of you up North are staying safe!
