I was recently given the “One Yard Challenge” by Pendleton, where I had the opportunity to create something fun using one yard of fabric chosen from the new fabric section of their website. They have so many pretty options to choose from, but I opted to go with the Buffalo Check fabric in grey/ivory. It’s made of 100% pure virgin wool, and I thought this particular fabric would be really pretty for the holidays and winter season.
It’s so soft and cozy looking, but I just love the colors and pattern. It is obvious the fabric is high quality too. I decided to make a cute throw pillow for our entryway bench.
I’m not the best seamstress in the world, but I’m learning, and my sewing machine and I have recently made peace for the time being.
I’m working on making over the entire entryway for the holidays, and this pillow was the perfect accent for the bench I recently built.
I love the grey and ivory combo mixed with red holiday accents.
As soon as I get some more sewing experience under my belt, I may even embellish it with a cute appliqué or something. For now, I like it the way it is.
If you’re looking for high quality, luxury fabric, be sure to check out Pendleton! I couldn’t be more happy with the fabric they sent for this challenge.

Such a lovely fabric and your pillow is the perfect addition to your holiday decor. I’m a big fan of buffalo check ~ I used to have my dining room chairs upholstered in some ~ I think I may go back, this grey print would go perfectly with my new decor.
Thank you Mary Beth! I love buffalo check too. I’m sure your dining room chairs were beautiful!
