Hey friends! It’s Week 3 of the One Room Challenge, and if you’re just joining in, I’m making over our master bedroom as part of this fun series where bloggers and designers make over a room in 6 weeks’ time, giving weekly updates as we go along. The final week will be the big room reveal. You can check out Week 1 here which includes lots of ugly before photos and my plans for the room, and Week 2 here. (And if you’re just joining me from the ORC linkup, I would love it if you would check out my project gallery or home tour to get to know the blog.)
If you missed the first post, here’s my moodboard for the room.
I didn’t accomplish much this past week since my husband was traveling and I’ve had a super clingy toddler who wasn’t feeling well, but I did manage to hem the curtains and add my Greek Key trim (which I scored from this online shop). I also might add some bamboo Roman shades to the windows for added privacy and to complete the look. I was hoping to get the same ones we have in Jonah’s nursery, but they were discontinued. (Womp womp.)
I’m going to be building a night stand for one side of the bed and I think I’ve finally nailed down the plans for it, so I just need to gather my supplies and start building. (And cross my fingers that it turns out the way I picture it in my head!)
I found these awesome brass and glass handles at Hobby Lobby and I’d love to incorporate them into the room somehow, maybe on the new nightstand. They didn’t have any more in stock so I may have to mix and match them with some brass knobs or something.
I am also super excited about the lighting we’ll be bringing into the room. It’s going to be a focal point for sure.
Here’s my updated To Do List (Notice I keep adding things):
PaintHem curtains and add trim- Add new hardware to existing furniture (maybe?)
Swap out mirror with the one in Jonah’s nursery- Swap out glider with something else
- Build a nightstand for one side of the bed
- Add artwork to the walls
- Accessorize
Figure out lighting- Install lighting
- Figure out what to do with blank walls on either side of bathroom door
- Repair barrel chairs at foot of the bed and decide whether to keep or replace with bench
- Swap out old almond color outlets & covers with white ones
Fingers crossed that I’ll cross several more things off the list this weekend!
Be sure to stop over and visit the One Room Challenge link-up over at Calling it Home to see all of the participating bloggers’ updates!
And just to be real with you, here’s what it looks like to attempt to shoot blog photos when you have a clingy, curious toddler in the room. Haha!

Good old Hobby Lobby! Those pulls are so chic and look very expensive. Little things like that make such a difference in a room.
I hope you’ll join us at Thoughts of Home on Thursday today. We’d love to have you.

Those drawer pulls are so pretty! Wish we had a Hobby Lobby in the Northeast – I always see such great stuff from there on other people’s blogs!

Thanks Alyssa! Bummer that you don’t have Hobby Lobby. Wonder if they’ll expand and open one up your way eventually? Hopefully!
